Random Thoughts: Ramadan and Beyond - Crunch Time

Salaam! It's been a while.  I know... I say that a lot.  Does anybody wanna become a guest writer on this blog to save me having to say that?  Get in touch if you do :D  Honestly, been meaning to write so much, have so many ideas, have so many rants, have so much to get off my chest, but, just been extremely tied down recently.  Had two awesome Twins of Faith conferences in Manchester and London.  Absolutely loved every moment of ToF being back in UK.  So, I currently stand at 9 ToF's attended in 5 cities and 3 countries around the world :D

Some members of the awesome team

Next, Allah blessed me with the opportunity to once again play a small part in Ramadan TV.  Another hecticly crazy fun-packed month.  Absolutely love the team at RTV and love every moment of RTV.. actually, almost every moment.  May Allah accept from all.  I have 2 posts drafted in my head about Islamic TV stations and their state in the UK.  Stay tuned (pun well and truly intended).

Very shortly, I'll insha'Allah be returning to the Holy Lands after what some people would call a 'long' break.  Had an amazing time in UK with some beloved people.  Always hard to depart from such awesome company.  However, have an exciting few months ahead.  Will be making a few important decisions in life in the next few months so please make dua Allah puts barakah in them.  You, just like the rest of the ummah, are in my du'aas.

Finally, on to the random part of this post.  I give you some more of my tweets and fb statuses.  But before that, trivia question: From which country do most of the visitors to the blog come from? Excluding USA due to spambots etc.  Leave your answer by commenting below, tweeting them to: @MuhammadWaqaas or, stay 100% anonymous and post to my Ask.fm profile. Right, the random thoughts:

---

Be a Dreamer - You know them times in your life when you get really excited about something. You imagine everything in your head and it all seems perfect. You see the aim and you see the end result. Then, you begin to realise the realities of life... You now also begin to see obstacles and all the things that could go wrong. Now you face a choice, do you: chase your dreams and carry on, or, let the fear of the unknown stop you?

Many of life's successful people are people who dared to dream. Do not let the fears of tomorrow stop you from doing what's right today. Be a dreamer.

In your anger, do not adopt the attributes you so hate in others.

Those Who Never Let You Down - Every single time I've fundraised for a charitable cause, one thing humbles me. Without failure. Every single time. And that is the keenness of a couple of individuals to support the causes. I don't want to name them as they've gone to extreme lengths to keep their donations anonymous and private. But, what I do want to say is that I am the happiest person on earth knowing you lot. You remind me of the following verse:

وَيُطْعِمُونَ الطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا
إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ اللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَاءً وَلَا شُكُورًا
And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive,
[Saying], "We feed you only for the countenance of Allah . We wish not from you reward or gratitude.

I can only make dua for you, but, insha'Allah what awaits you with Allah (swt) is far greater than any words I could say about you…

"Who are you to judge? Allah knows what's in my/their heart" - How many times have you heard that when giving advice? It's like people have forgotten the concept of amr bil maroof wa nahi an al-munkar. Let's remind ourselves of the words of Ar-Rahman:

كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ

"You are the best community that has been raised for mankind. You enjoin good and forbid evil and you believe in Allah." [Aal-e-Imran, 3:110].

So stop being so defensive and offended when someone gives you sincere advice. Don't get me wrong, there are times when people will make stupid remarks about someone due to the way they're dressed, the length of their beard or the car they drive, but, when you see the whole world, including scholars, telling you what you're doing is wrong, don't turn around with: "Who are you to judge?"

Sometimes we need to humble ourselves and accept the fact that people give us sincere advice because they care about us. If they didn't, it'd be much easier for them just to say: "Go to jahannum. You deserve it".
