#QuranChallenge - Some of My Fav Verses

May Allah reward my dear brother Kamal Saleh for nominating me. As he said, it's difficult to pick one or two verses only. However, amongst the ones that always touch me are the following which describe two immense moments. First, the moment of your death. The time when your life flashes past you, your worries, your regrets and your fears for what you're leaving behind and what's to come. Allah reassures the believers at this moment:

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا رَبُّنَا اللَّهُ ثُمَّ اسْتَقَامُوا تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ أَلَّا تَخَافُوا وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا وَأَبْشِرُوا بِالْجَنَّةِ الَّتِي كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ

Verily, those who say: "Our Lord is Allah (Alone)," and then they stand firm, on them the angels will descend (at the time of their death) (saying): "Fear not, nor grieve! But receive the glad tidings of Paradise which you have been promised!

Allah is reassuring the believing soul and telling this person that he should not fear that which he will face in the hereafter. Then, Allah (swt) does not stop there, he also reassures this person about the things he's leaving behind: children, family, wealth, etc. and that He (swt) will take care of them.

The second event is when Allah speaks about the Day of judgment in Surah Al-Fajr. This whole surah is amazing, but, the last 4 ayaah's, if we take a few moments, close our eyes and imagine this scene being played out in front of us, when Allah begins to address the believers on this Day, are just out of this world:

يَا أَيَّتُهَا النَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ(It will be said to the pious): “O (you) the one in (complete) rest and satisfaction!

ارْجِعِي إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَّرْضِيَّةًReturn to your Master well-pleased and pleased with (by Allah)

فَادْخُلِي فِي عِبَادِيso enter in amongst my slaves.

وَادْخُلِي جَنَّتِيand enter my Jannah/paradise.

These verses have brought many to tears. May Allah make us amongst those to whom this is said. Ameen.
