The Lake District, UK

So on my recent trip to the UK, I visited the Lake District for the first time in my life! Can you believe it?  So many years of living in the UK and I’d never been before.  Alhamdulilah.  What a beautiful place.  Seriously.  Stunning.

We were very fortunate to have visited on a beautiful day.  Very little rain, not too hot, not too cold, just about right.  There’s a lot to see in Lake District.  Our first stop was at Wastwater.  A truly beautiful lake.  You could spend hours just walking up and down that and admiring the mountains, the greenery and the clouds to be honest.

From there, the aim was to hike up to Middle Fell.  Middle Fell is very close to Scaffle Pike.  The hike up is pretty safe and should really take around 2 hours, but, if you’re like me and you need to catch your breath every 15 mins or so, it may take 3 hours.

The views are breath-taking.  This is one hike you won’t regret.  It may not be easy but the sheer beauty that surrounds you as you get to the top makes it all worth it in the end.

Just be warned to follow the official hiking route on your way down.  Don’t try to be heroes like us.  We created our own route and ended up slipping and sliding everywhere. Bad idea.
