When life hits you with difficulties or things don't go the way you wanted them to, it's a perfect time for some self reflection. Ask yourself whether you're being tested for disobeying Allah. Perhaps that bad habit you considered minor is today causing you grief and worry. Once you've identified a fault, turn sincerely in repentance to Allah, promise Him that you will never return to that action and then do your best to increase in Ibadah. Have full hope in Allah and never forget what Allah (swt) promises in the Qur'an:
Say: "O 'Ibadi (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah, verily Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
