About 5 and a half years a go I was stood in a dawah centre in Bradford having just prayed jummah salaah there. As I stood there, I saw a brother with a broad smile walking towards me. He stood in front of me, with a warm smile, gave me salaam and asked me my name and what I do. Little did I know at that point that Allah had sent him to change the course of my life. After a very brief chat, he took my number and said he'd call me to discuss the website of the centre.
I knew very little about this brother other than his name, but, Allah (swt) put a lot of love for him in my heart. Allah chose this brother to be the one who would introduce me to some of the most dearest and beloved people in my life. Allah chose him to be the one who would open the doors for doing some good literally all around the world.
For almost 3 years, I had the pleasure of working with him on probably the most amazing project I've ever been involved in: The Little Explorers Magazine. This was a project he was very passionate about. Something he dedicated a lot of time and effort in. Something that would keep him awake until the early hours of the morning sometimes. I still remember the many days and nights spent up and down the country at various events for LE. And I still wish I spent a bit more time with him. I still wish I could take back the times I let him down...
Through this brother I got introduced to people who would give me an opportunity to play a small part in projects like AlKauthar, NZF, JGDI, Twins of Faith, Ramadan TV and so much more. And I say this without exaggeration, almost every single dawah project I've had any little to do with in the past 4 or so years, somehow links back to him. And I also say this without any exaggeration that the vast majority of the most beloved people to walk in to my life in the past 4-5 years link back to him somehow.
Allah (swt) took this beloved slave of His back about a year and half a go. He was: Tehseen Khan and his memory still brings many to tears even today. After his death, I promised that I would do whatever little I could in the hope of benefitting him in the aakhirah. One of the things I started was a fundraising page to help establish a dawah centre he inspired and he envisioned. Alhamdulilah the centre was established last year and stands as a testament to this great individual. I now need your help to ensure that the centre continues benefitting the community he so cared about. Please help support Tehseen's vision by visiting: https://www.justgiving.com/tehseen/
